One of the things we need to stop doing is labeling Bahamasair as unprofitable and BTC as profitable. Once an entity is owned by the government it is not a "for profit entity". The two entities differ only in the manner in which they collect revenues. One is able to collect it directly from the Bahamian people and the other collects it from the people via the treasury. What people label as BTC profit is in fact a telecommunication tax that BTC collects on behalf of the government. Some of that telecommunication tax makes it way to the consolidated fund every year.
