Excellent article!
The widespread protection of selective groups of workers results directly in higher taxes and prices, and a loss of job opportunity for everyone else. Our prosperity as a nation is totally dependent on our international competitiveness. The failure of our leaders to admit this truth, and therefore to be able to explain to people why higher productivity is the only road to prosperity, is condemning the country to exactly what politicians claim they are saving it from; the loss of jobs.

An informative read, thank you.
